Katie Camplen, CNM/WHNP earned her nursing degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in May 2009. She was commissioned into the U.S. Air Force in July 2009 as a 2nd Lieutenant. She started serving in the U.S. Air Force as an OB nurse at Lackland AFB. She was deployed to Bagram, Afghanistan as a ward/ER trauma nurse in 2013. She also served in Misawa AB, Japan and Eglin AFB, FL. During that time, she started her MSN at Frontier Nursing University. She completed her MSN for Midwifery in Oct 2017, then completed her Post Master’s Certificate for Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner in Feb 2018. She is board certified as both a Certified Nurse Midwife and Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner. She also is certified in In-Patient Obstetrics and Electronic Fetal Monitoring. She especially enjoys working with military families. Katie is now a Major and continues to serve in the U.S. Air Force as a Reservist for the 433rd Medical Squadron as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner. She has joined Kellum OBGYN after four years of prior practice.
